Relocating to Island County
Fresh air. Fresh food. Fresh start.
Island County offers businesses and remote workers a place to find their niche and grow. Entrepreneurs, service providers and light manufacturing are welcomed in this supportive community. People make a life, not just a living, in Island County with its natural beauty, small farm and artisan network and ample recreation.
We have a strong workforce that is highly motivated to stay in the area. Education levels are above average and highly skilled Whidbey Naval Air Station spouses and early retirees make excellent employees. With a median income higher than the state’s, our residents make good customers too!
Employers will find location opportunities throughout Whidbey and Camano Islands’ unique and distinctive regions.
North Whidbey
Anchored by Oak Harbor, the largest city in the County, this region is home to Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. Anacortes and Skagit County are a bridge away.
Central Whidbey
Coupeville is the Island County seat and central Whidbey’s largest population center. This historic region is a center for farming and the arts. The ferry to Port Townsend makes it a jumping off point to the Olympic Peninsula.
South Whidbey
The communities of Clinton, Freeland and Langley are a short ferry ride away from Mukilteo in Snohomish County. South Whidbey is a center for both the arts and tech.
Camano Island
Camano Island is a close-knit community nicknamed “the easy island” that offers great seaside escapes just across the bridge from Stanwood in Skagit County.
